Ensemble Fioritura is a wind-and-piano ensemble of mainly Hong Kong-born musicians founded in 2022. Exploring the sound world of the combination of instruments, promoting the music of our time and inspiring social discourses are central to their ambition.

They have commissioned new compositions by living composers, bringing them and other works around the UK and Hong Kong, most recently at the French May Arts Festival 2023. Outside their regular performance schedule, they also share their passion for music as Live Music Now musicians with the community.

Karen Wong (flute/piccolo) is Britten Pears Young Artist 24/25, and has recently worked with London Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Smith Square (formerly Southbank Sinfonia), Northern Ballet Sinfonia, Scottish Ballet Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and Taipei Music Academy and Festival Orchestra. In 2022, she won the British Flute Society Young Artist Competition and the 2nd Prize in the Tampere Flute Fest Piccolo Competition (Finland).

Alvin Wong (saxophone) has won solo prizes including the Illinois MTNA Young Artist Woodwind Competition and the Evanston Music Club, North Shore Musicians Club Competition in the US, and the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition in Belgium. He has a diverse performance profile in solo, ensemble, and orchestral settings and in traditional, contemporary and commercial contexts, bringing him to many major venues, especially across Asia. He obtained his master’s from Northwestern University and furthered his study afterwards at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp as a postgraduate concert soloist.

Lance Mok's (piano/composer) versatile career as a recital and concerto soloist, chamber musician, and répétiteur has brought him around the world from the UK and Hong Kong to the Netherlands, Finland, Poland, Korea, Taiwan, Macau, and the US. His compositions have recently been performed in such venues and occasions as St John’s Smith Square (London), O. Festival (Rotterdam), and French May Arts Festival (HK). Commissions have come from the Ponte London Orchestra, Playground Ensemble (US), and Hong Kong Piccolo Association, amongst others. Lance is a master’s graduate in Piano Performance from the Royal College of Music. He has been appointed an ABRSM examiner since 2023.

Our Coffee Concerts offer some of the best free music in town followed by tea, coffee and cake - donations welcome.
